Ashley Tisdale was soon cast as Sharpay Evans in Disney Channel Original Movie High School Musical. Tisdale's role required her to perform several songs on the soundtrack. Tisdale became the first female artist to debut two songs simultaneously on the "Billboard Hot 100" with "What I've Been Looking For" and "Bop to the Top". Tisdale also covered "Kiss the Girl" and a music video for the song was made. In 2006, she signed a record deal with Warner Bros. Records and covered Wham!'s "Last Christmas", which was her first single in her Warner Bros. deal. In December 2006, prior to the release of her debut album, she released a three-song EP, He Said She Said EP to promote the album. In late 2006, she participated in the international High School Musical: The Concert tour, performing the songs from the soundtrack and three songs from her debut album.
